A decade of ‘wild harmony’: Highland Park releases limited-edition Single Cask #3439 in Australia
As one of the premier distilleries in Scotland, Highland Park continues to cultivate expressions that mimic the natural environment that is home to its Orkney distillery. Such is the case with its new whisky, the 10-Year-Old Single Cask #3439, which embodies the brand’s vision for ‘Wild Harmony’.
The 224-year-old distillery’s new partnership with Barrel & Batch would lead to another signature sherry-seasoned oak cast whisky that takes after the coastlines and temperatures of Kirk, Orkney.
A spirited liquid first distilled in 2011 then bottled in 2021, this 10-year-old Ex Sherry Single Malt Whisky is part of a limited run of bottles. It joins the likes of the Cask Strength Release No.3, 10-Year-Old Viking Scars, 12-Year-Old Viking Honour, 15-Year-Old, Viking Heart and 18-Year-Old Viking Pride.
This whisky bears Highland Park’s DNA, capturing the character of Orkney. With the expression comes richer, smokier and more complex flavors. Here, notes of vanilla, smoke, toasted oak, nutmeg and demerara sugar make up the base. It coats the palate with a thick, luscious texture and enjoys an aftertaste of vanilla, smoke and lingering cloves.
“The collaboration with Barrel & Batch has been exceptional, allowing us to share this unique expression with a wider audience,” shared Highland Park Master Whisky Maker Gordon Motion. “This release complements our core range by adding a distinctive depth and character that whisky lovers will truly appreciate.”
The limited-edition Single Cask #3439 is exclusively available in partnership with Barrel & Batch. Visit Highland Park and Barel & Batch for more information.
