La Prairie celebrates International Women’s Day at curator Amanda Love’s art-filled home

On International Women’s Day, Boulevard had the privilege of co-hosting an exclusive luncheon at the private residence of independent art advisor and advocate Amanda Love. Esteemed clients were treated to a bespoke luncheon, as well as an intimate art tour of love’s personal collection.

Coincidentally, the La Prairie Group has been celebrating quite the number of milestones recently, as La Prairie ANZ Managing Director Rosi Fernandez points out. She graciously sat down with Boulevard to discuss the significance of IWD, her leadership and the inclusivity at the core of the brand.

“Diversity is part of the DNA of the La Prairie Group,” she says. “This inherent behaviour means we have diversity at all levels of the organization, including leadership positions, which is crucial for fostering an inclusive culture.”

As it stands, the Board of Directors at La Prairie holds a 60% to 40% female-to-male ratio. The organisation’s recent appointment of the new CEO of La Prairie Group, Estelle Letang, also marks a new chapter in the brand’s storied history.

As part of Women’s Month, Fernandez welcomed the latest recipient of the La Prairie art award, as well. Its most recent winner, Filipino-Australian Marikit Santiago, a three-time Archibald Prize finalist, will have two of her works exhibited at the Art Gallery of NSW. She will also be heading to Europe for a residency this coming June and will also spend time at Switzerland’s Art Basel international art fair. Founded in 2022, the accolade has become a leading platform for emerging female artists in Australia.

Her paintings, “Seat at the Table (Magulang)” and “A Seat at the Table (Kapatid),” are portraits inspired by diaspora and her Filipino lineage. “It marks the continued commitment of La Prairie to empower the community of young women artists through inspiration and experience during their residency,” the managing director adds. The Sydney artist becomes the country’s next young global arts ambassador.

“A heartfelt thank you to Amanda Love, our gracious host,” says Lachlann Macdonald, Global PR, Commercial & Partnerships Director at Boulevard. “Her warm hospitality welcomed us into her home, and her remarkable career as an independent art advisor and passionate art advocate spanning over two decades truly inspired us.”
