Dassault Falcon 6X is an icon of next-generation first-class aviation

By Bryle B. Suralta

It’s rather difficult to argue against Dassault Aviation’s Falcon 6X being the very best in its class. Bigger isn’t always better but in this case, it’s true. It is, after all, the aerospace company’s largest and most robust business jet in the brand’s 60-year history, a real successor to Dassault’s fabled aircraft heritage.

The long-range jet is indicative of Dassault’s design evolution, producing an aircraft that astounds passengers, pilots, and technicians alike. Passengers, in particular, should appreciate the fact that the aircraft has the highest and widest cross-section of any purpose-built business jet.

Featuring 1.90 metres of cabin height and 2.58 metres of width and an impressive 12.30 metres of cabin length, the Falcon 6X has the largest interior space in the 5,000-nm segment. Dassault’s in-house Design Studio added more space for personal productivity, based on extensive customer input. The business jet can fit 12 to 16 passengers, too.

It also enjoys as quiet a cabin as there has ever been (interior sound levels place below 50 dB). Complementing this is a high-speed connectivity system that includes in-flight entertainment and communications network technology. This means crisper, high-definition audio and video content up in the air.

Adding to this is the brand’s esteemed Innovative Cabin System, which allows users to adjust cabin settings and entertainment on personal devices. Hospital-grade HEPA filters, on the other hand, ensure that passengers are refreshed before and after they arrive at their desired location.

Of note, too, is the Falcon 6X’s speed and flexibility. It offers the longest range in its class while its connectivity is just as impressive.

Boasting a maximum range of 10,186 km at Mach .80 or 9,445 km at Mach .85, the jet can take on even the most challenging of frontiers. Its wings, marked by advanced structural architecture and curved trailing edge, achieve superior efficiency. In addition, city pairings cover Paris to Beijing; Shanghai to Melbourne; Los Angeles to London; São Paulo to Chicago; and Paris to Johannesburg at M .85.

With unparalleled widebody comfort and maximum mission flexibility, the Falcon 6X also possesses by far the most coveted cockpit technologies yet. Pilots benefit from more controls during different flight conditions and an optimized situational awareness, both of which accompany an already expansive cockpit.

Its innovation is defined by a more refined Digital Flight Control System, among others, which simplifies the pilot’s workload for safer performance. Even the streamlined starting sequence for the Falcon 6X is more automated and will require fewer actions. The FalconEye combined vision system, a feature that was heralded on the flagship Falcon 8X, serves as the standard for the 6X. The aircraft, it seems, is all about setting new standards, really.
