Blancpain’s latest Villeret Quantième Perpétuel expression takes cues from the Le Brassus forest

Few names come close to the horological ingenuity of Blancpain. The brand is commonly associated with watchmaking innovation and craftsmanship. And the Villeret Quantième Perpétuel offers its own unique expression, featuring the complex perpetual calendar, as well as the under-lug correctors.

The latest addition to its distinguished lineup seamlessly combines heritage design with cutting-edge technology. At first glance, the Vielleret Quantième Perpétuel captivates the wearer with its calming dark green face and the distinct moon phase at 6’o clock.

It enjoys an understated yet refined aesthetic, exuding a particular elegance. Its slim profile and smooth lines pay homage to the Villeret collection, named after the birthplace of the brand. Its dial also draws inspiration from the green spruce trees of the Le Brassus forest. Its leaf-shaped, red gold hands, on the other hand, add a touch of vintage charm.

Here, Blancpain two distinct characteristics to this new addition to the Villeret collection. Firstly, a secure movement safeguards the calendar mechanism from damage, in case the wearer adjusts the watch while the indications are changing. At the heart of it is a 5954 self-winding calibre with a 72-hour power reserve that drives this intricate mechanism. Finished with a red gold honeycomb oscillating weight and a silicon balance spring, it is framed by a sapphire crystal back case.

Secondly, it has Blancpain’s signature under-lug corrector. This enables the calendar indicators to be adjusted simply by pressing a finger. The complex perpetual calendar also automatically adjusts to the date display, accommodating years and seasons (requiring no adjustment until February 2100). Tying all the details together is a supple brown leather strap, which evokes the bountiful generosity of the region in which this collection was fostered.
