Setsu Niseko facilities
Setsu Niseko was created to capture all the charm and elegance of the classic ‘apres ski’ experience – with elevated living in one of the most sought-after areas in Niseko.
Residents receive all the benefits of an exceptional hotel, including concierge service, in-suite dining and exclusive events. Among the welcoming touches for families are a children’s play room and gardens to explore. Owner benefits also include use of the Setsu Niseko spa and wellness centre, onsens and gym.
Everything has been considered for residents who spend ski season here: the on-site boutique and rental service run by Rhythm Japan offers premium ski and snowboarding equipment, and expert ski technicians are on hand. The knowledgeable ski concierge team is also available to share valuable advice on the local terrain and favourite runs.
Private lockers connected to room keys make for a smooth experience, and Setsu Niseko’s gondola shuttle service whisks residents to the action at Grand Hirafu in moments.
During green season, itineraries and equipment are available for days spent on inspiring mountain hikes, exploring the landscape on bike, or local farm tours.
This spectacular pocket of the world is a year-round retreat, but for owners who aren’t always in residence, those placing their unit in the rental pool enjoy a full management and leasing service.
Setsu Niseko dining
In a region renowned for the quality of its produce, including seafood from its pristine coast, it’s no surprise Hokkaido has a vibrant dining scene. With six distinct dining venues, Setsu Niseko is adding more exceptional experiences to the mix, with the culinary prowess of two Michelin-starred chefs.
Expect the best of local cuisine, from ocean-to-table concept Sushi Kato, to light-as-air tempura at Tempura Araki, at the hands of Michelin-starred Chef Yoshiyuki Arak, or ultra-comforting, hand-crafted ramen from the acclaimed restaurant AFURI. All this exists alongside the indulgent Park 90 Niseko lounge and wine bar, and Luke’s Alpine Club, which has won a devoted following in Singapore for its inspired take on American classics.
Another exciting addition is Meli Melo Yuki No Koe restaurant, a co-creation between Hokkaido native and Michelin-starred chef Hironori Sato and Masaya Ishii of iconic Sapporo cafe Baristart Coffee. Seasonality and local ingredients drive this beautifully considered Western and Japanese menu.
Designed for dining against dramatic views of Mount Yotei, this lineup is set to secure Setsu Niseko’s place as a destination for lovers of fine food.
Setsu Niseko spa & onsen
In a landscape where snow-dusted scenes and hot springs meet, taking time for peaceful restoration and rejuvenation is called for. Spanning 6,674 sqft, Setsu Niseko’s spa and wellness centre is one of the largest in Hirafu, offering an exceptional spa and onsen experience.
Harnessing the natural hot springs of the area, the onsen allows residents and visitors to indulge in the therapeutic benefits of soaking in mineral-rich waters – known to relieve fatigued muscles and encourage deeper sleep. Here, an impressive series of indoor and outdoor onsens is accompanied by private onsen rooms and lounge, sauna and a cold dipping pool.
Taking a holistic approach to wellness, traditional Japanese spa therapies and modern treatments are offered, with carefully curated treatments available to align with individual wellness goals.
For those seeking an energising experience, a well-equipped gymnasium and yoga studio await.
Setsu Niseko design
Named the World’s Best Ski Resort, Setsu Niseko’s architectural treatment pays deep respect to the natural environment: its four six-storey blocks are wrapped around a peaceful courtyard garden, with awe-inspiring mountain views across to Mount Yotei and Mount Annupuri.
Designed in collaboration with Singapore architect Mok Wei Wei of W-Architects and Japanese architects Field Four and Kume Sekkei, Setsu Niseko’s 190 fully furnished apartments capture a beautiful balance of Japanese design elements and luxury contemporary living.
Traditional touches within the suites include ‘shoji’ screens that divide living spaces and diffuse light, and tatami rooms that provide flexibility. The warmth of wood and details such as cosy window seats and fireplaces create inviting retreats to take in the wall-to-wall panoramic views.
Residences also feature gourmet kitchens with Miele appliances including dishwasher, espresso machine and washer/dryer. The thoughtful design of these homes includes comforts such as under-floor heating and the ease of ample storage, ski wear closets and external locked storage.
