Rivamare x Ferretti Yachts 780

Rivamare is a contemporary open yacht that honors the spirit of classic cruising

At the Singapore Yachting Festival, Rivamare joined the likes of other Ferretti Group standouts wallywhy200, wallypower58 and Ferretti 780 as some of the most beautiful vessels in the squadron. Measuring 11.89 metres long with a full beam of 3.5 metres, Rivamare has a unique presence that makes it such a memorable open yacht – and it’s rooted in classic cruising.

When Riva introduced the motorboat, it hoped to author a yacht that was ideal for coasting through the West Mediterranean or French Riviera, reminiscent of open yachts associated with the ’50s or ’60s. Debuting in 2016, Rivamare’s distinct exterior styling has made it a favorite among cruisers. A modernist marvel at sea, it’s defined sinuous, sleek lines strike the perfect balance sporty and seductive.

Here, Mahogany and steel interact seamlessly throughout the vessel. Its gloss-varnished mahogany panelling is elevated by that central glass pane. Complementing this are, of course, those signature Riva colours and deck casing in chrome plated aluminum alloy. Zip-in side and front enclosures, on the other hand, are automated and can be raised by one push of a button.

In the interior is a cabin that matches the styling cues of the exterior, starting off with the C-shaped aft sofa that ties it all together. With a layout usually found on larger vessels, the space can accommodate an open-space kitchen, bathroom with separate shower and living area in the bow.

Owners may install a convertible dinette with its own dining table for good measure. A fold-down lounge also ensures that guests have ample room for relaxation or even a deck reserved for group water activities. Rivamare, after all, can fit up to seven guests.

There’s a feat of engineering done here that should be appreciated, too. Rivamare, after all, is quite the performer when it needs to be. Equipped with a stern-driven D6 400 DPH Volvo Penta propulsion, the open yacht can easily reach 31 knots in minutes (the maximum is 40 knots). This, coupled with its dashing presence, are what make it such a stunner at sea.
