Range Rover’s new SV Bespoke Service is an advanced lesson in personalised refinement
When it comes to luxury SUVs, Range Rovers are peerless in terms of constant engineering innovation. It’s a heritage SUV that has half a century of prestige under its belt, and for good reason: it offers the quintessential driving experience built on refinement, design, and technical prowess. More recently, the proud line added enhanced personalisation to that equation, with the introduction of its new SV Bespoke commissioning service.
A suite of choices await Range Rover Autobiography and SV clients now. Further updates, such as installing the latest generation Pivi Pro1 infotainment and electric hybrid power on the long wheelbase model, among others, allows owners to have their own expressions of individuality here. And it can be done efficiently through an exclusive virtual service.
“With the new SV Bespoke commissioning service, we invite our most discerning clients to become the creator of their truly unique vehicle – choosing the finishes they desire and being guided by our Design team,” Range Rover Managing Director Geraldine Ingham says of the new service. “By blending enhanced personalisation with peerless refinement and unmatched capability, Range Rover continues to deliver the ultimate in modern luxury.”
Desired colourways, for instance, come with a comprehensive seven-step creation process. Owners get to pick out colours, themes, SV exclusive options, materials, veneers and finishes, among other customisations and personalisation options.
For the interior, there are up to 391 material colourways available and more than 230 colours in satin and gloss finishes. Any exterior colour, on the other hand, is achievable through the SV Bespoke Match to Sample paint service. The Range Roer bonnet and tailgate can also be swapped in with precious metal finishes including 24-carat gold.
Apart from this, clients can select from an extensive powertrain line-up, which promises better driving capabilities. The powerful and efficient plug-in electric hybrid engines feature a new 160kW electric motor. Combining that with the three-litre six-cylinder Ingenium petrol engine produces 550PS and 460PS in the P550e and P460e respectively.
Acceleration in EV mode is improved, as well. For the first time, electric hybrid power is now available on the long-wheelbase Range Rover SV while the V8 now features Mild Hybrid Electric Vehicle (MHEV) technology for better efficiency.
The brand also emphasised the need for amplified connectivity and intuitive technology. The next-generation Pivi Pro1 infotainment provides a crisp and intuitive interface, enabling clients to control key vehicle functions via the elegant 13.1-inch floating glass touchscreen. Meanwhile, the integrated Amazon Alexa voice AI4 and Land Rover voice control systems help drivers keep their eyes on the road all the while maintaining the optimal cabin environment.
Making its debut on the Range Rover, too, is the New Country Road Assist technology. This feature enhances passenger comfort while on Adaptive Cruise Control. The intelligent system uses navigation data to adjust the target speed, speed limit, and road conditions as drivers go. Complementing this is the Dynamic Response Pro3, a powerful electric roll control technology that reduces body lean when cornering for a more relaxing and engaging drive.
The enhanced Range Rover line-up is available from approximately £103,720 or AU$195,616. It’s a new breed of luxury SUV remade for the driver, reconfigured by the driver.
