Bombardier Global 8000 sets its sights on a new future for business aviation

When Bombardier first introduced the Global 8000, it showed the possibilities yet unchartered for a private jet in its class. The jet manufacturer took the best qualities of the Global 8000’s predecessor, the Global 7500, and transformed them into a flagship of unparalleled long-haul excellence. Soon, it will be the fastest and longest-range purpose-built business jet in the world, bolstering the brand’s impeccable portfolio.

“Bombardier solidifies once more its position as the leader in business aviation with the newest member of the industry-leading Global family,” Bombardier President and Chief Executive Officer Éric Martel says of the aircraft. “The Global 8000 aircraft leverages the outstanding attributes of the Global 7500 aircraft, providing our customers with a flagship aircraft of a new era.”

While the Global 8000 aircraft is yet to enter service, that hasn’t stopped clients from already putting in orders for the highly anticipated aircraft. Boasting an industry-leading range of 8,000 nautical miles and a top speed of Mach 0.94, the aircraft wowed witnesses during its initial flight demonstrations in 2021. It was here that it would earn the reputation of being the fastest in civil aviation since the Concorde. The demonstration also offered glimpses of its supersonic with sustainable aviation fuel, a first for the Transport Category.

The jet’s cabin is branded as the “healthiest” in the long-range category. Having the lowest cabin altitude in its class of 2,900 feet when flying at 41,000 ft, the jet also features Bombardier’s Pũr Air and advanced HEPA filter technology for added passenger comfort.

Accommodating up to 19 passengers, four personalised suites are ergonomically designed to ensure freedom of movement. These include a Principal Suite with a full-size bed and a stand-up shower in the ensuite. The jet’s cabin entertainment control and connectivity gets a revamp, too. Bombardier gave the aircraft an added touch with the intuitive nice Touch CMS and OLED touch dial, as well as Bombardier’s l’Opéra directional audio sound system and available 4K monitor.

Complementing the suites are the innovative Nuage seat with the first-ever zero gravity position and Soleil circadian lighting system, which dramatically diminishes the chances of jet lag. All of these should leave all its passengers feeling reinvigorated for the next business trip.

The cockpit is equipped with the famed Bombardier Vision flight deck, and its next-gen fly-by-wire technology and a blend of cutting-edge avionics. Extraordinary ergonomics and aesthetics take centre stage, showcasing the brand’s attention to detail even on the pilot’s side. This should help immensely, considering Bombardier even widened its pairings to cover flights from Dubai to Houston, Singapore to Los Angeles, London to Perth, and so much more.
