The future of fashion: Zegna X weaves together art and science in luxury clienteling
Zegna’s bespoke collections have long redefined Italian luxury styling. It displays hand-sewn, fully canvased materials peerless in their quality. From Australian merino wool to Superfine and Trofeo tailoring cloths, its selection of fabrics is exceptional and always thoughtfully curated, something that tailors, craftsmen and, of course, the most discerning customers appreciate.
Zegna’s sense of innovation has never wavered and now it tries its hand in technology. Last year, it would introduce a new wrinkle to its operations with the brand’s collaboration with Microsoft. Here, the Maison would announce the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into the art of luxury clienteling.
With AI tools gaining popularity among retailers over the years, Zegna hoped to ride this new wave of personalisation in the customer experience. And after conducting a two-year trial period, the brand came up with Zegna X, launching at its flagship store in Milan Montenapleone.
Zegna X is an AI-powered 360 ‘configurator’ that connects style consultants with customers online. What makes this tool so unique in comparison to other clienteling applications is the fact that the AI configurator can draw up to 49 billion potential outfit combination, offering endless options to customers.
These combinations are all based on each client’s personal taste and preferences, guiding sales staff to determine and finalise the AI’s recommendation. Apart from that, Zegna X also improves the brand’s sustainability and productivity by shipping the products directly at clients’ doors.
Zegna’s Chief of Marketing Edoardo Zegna explained that the move should begin a new era for the brand and luxury clienteling as a whole. The exciting collaboration aims to develop more of Zegna’s technological platforms in the coming years, seeking to revolutionise its services.
