From gem cuts to investable signatures: The new hallmarks of high jewellery

What’s in a cut? A lot, apparently. Boulevard explores how the faceting of a gemstone affects its quality, desirability, and value.

From Boucheron’s “Vendôme Liseré” ring set with diamonds and black lacquer and Chaumet’s ““Isadora” ring featuring oval-cut white sapphires and one 6.5-carat cushion-cut sapphire, to Harry Winston’s diamond-set platinum necklace, Simone Jewels’ “One Thousand and One Tales Magical Kingdom” ring, and Tiffany & Co’s gold Schlumberger earrings set with diamonds and pear-shaped spessartine, these high jewellery pieces underscore the value inherent in each gemstone cut and its investability.
