Tiffany & Co.’s Blue Book Collection is an odyssey to the cosmos

Tiffany & Co. is a name that suggests a tradition of creative excellence. Whether it’s Paulding Farnham’s dazzling orchid brooches of the late 19th century or Jean Schlumberger’s fantastical enamel bangles of the ’50s, the Maison’s pieces communicate such sculptural and poetic magnetism.

Schlumberger’s influence continues to live on even in Tiffany’s latest releases. His collaboration with the Maison, after all, will be remembered for welcoming a new chapter for the brand. He ended up steering Tiffany towards the more colourful, nature-inspired designs it’s known for today.

Tiffany & Co.’s new ocean-themed series hopes to capture the imagination and brilliance of the famed designer. The 2024 Tiffany Blue Book Collection was born out of the legendary jewellery designer’s fascination with celestial beings, which was a constant obsession throughout his works.

“This collection tells the extraordinary story of our legendary craftsmanship with the world’s most exceptional diamonds and gemstones,” noted Anthony Ledru, president and chief executive officer of Tiffany & Co.

Each piece in this collection embodies the designer’s virtuosity, executed by the brand’s Chief Artistic Officer Nathalie Verdeille. Consisting of six chapters, the collection’s Tiffany Céleste reinterprets Schlumberger’s greatest triumphs, making use of some archival sketches, as well. This, in turn, culminated in the releases of Wings, Arrow, Constellation, Iconic Star, Ray of Light and Apollo.

From the Wings’ diamonds and sapphires to the Ray of Light’s red spinels, each piece is brimming with historic metaphors and themes that serve Schlumberger’s artistic appetite for the ethereal. The Iconic Star, for example, is notable for depicting the star as the ultimate symbol of the universe’s creation. The Constellation chapter, likewise, frames the designer’s view on outer space, serving as an inquiry into cosmic patterns.

In addition, the collection recalls Tiffany & Co’s iconic pieces throughout the years, including Schlumberger’s own Tiffany Apollo brooch. The same thoughtful tribute also applies to the Arrow, referencing Schlumberger’s Tiffany Trophée de Vaillance brooch from 1941.

The 2024 Tiffany Blue Book Collection will be launched in three phases, starting off with the Tiffany Céleste in Spring and will be followed by two more exciting collections set to be unveiled later this year.
