The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection expands its world of ocean voyages with the Luminara
Since 2022, The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection has redefined luxury cruising, introducing its signature style of hospitality at sea with the launch of its inaugural yacht, Evrima. Measuring 624 feet and featuring 149 spacious suites, Evrima accommodates almost 300 guests, allowing for a quieter, more spacious onboard experience.
Its voyages span a wide range of regions—from the sun-drenched coasts of the Mediterranean and the rugged landscapes of Northern Europe to the warmer waters of the Caribbean, as well as seasonal routes through Asia and Alaska—each itinerary designed to linger in smaller ports that larger cruise ships often bypass.
Then in 2024, the brand expanded its fleet with the introduction of its second yacht, Ilma. Larger than Evrima, the 790-foot vessel accommodated up to 448 guests across 224 thoughtfully designed suites, each with light-filled spaces and stunning views of the waters. Like its predecessor, Ilma sails a variety of itineraries that emphasise longer stays and less-travelled ports, offering a slower, more immersive way to experience each destination.

Now, with the upcoming launch of Luminara in July 2025, The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection continues its vision of offering a more personal, spacious and destination-focused style of luxury cruising—this time with a new vessel that refines the design and onboard experience even further.
Luminara, named after the Latin word for “light,” spans 794 feet and features 226 suites, accommodating up to 452 guests. As with the rest of The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection, each suite includes a private terrace, offering expansive views of the sea.
The yacht’s interiors were conceptualised by a team of acclaimed designers, including AD Associates, DPA lighting consultants and Chapi Chapo Design, with a focus on fluidity, texture and the interplay between natural elements and refined craftsmanship.

The interiors blend warm walnut woods and Arabescato Corchia marble with a palette of soft blues, greys and ocean-inspired hues, subtly accented with bronze and ruby tones. Curved forms, sculptural lighting and reflective finishes also echo the movement of water, creating a sense of continuity between indoor and outdoor spaces.
The highlight of the yacht is the new Residential Suite, which introduces an elevated material palette of dark oak, Emporada marble, smoked glass and bespoke furnishings from design houses Minotti, Giorgetti, Poltrona Frau and Molteni.
Across the vessel, art plays a defining role with a curated collection of 731 works—many commissioned specifically for the ship—that explores themes of light, maritime history and the Maltese cultural landscape. The collection includes works by renowned 20th-century and contemporary artists, including Paul Klee, Henri Matisse, Gerhard Richter, and Andy Warhol. These pieces are placed throughout the yacht to encourage both quiet reflection and conversation, anchored by a centrepiece—a seven-storey suspended light sculpture in the atrium staircase that forms a striking visual link between decks.

The main dining area features a palette of soft blues, greys and ocean-inspired hues.
In addition to design and art, Luminara expands the collection’s approach to lifestyle and leisure. The yacht introduces the Marina, Marina Terrace, and Marina Beach—an expansive space for sunbathing, relaxing and enjoying a cocktail by the ocean vista. This is anchored by a floating lounge platform with a central pool that allows guests to swim directly in the sea. From here, guests can also access kayaking, paddleboarding, Seabobs and electric foiling boards, as well as bespoke spa treatments across 11 dedicated rooms provided by The Ritz-Carlton Spa.
Following its inaugural season in the Mediterranean, Luminara will continue The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection’s expansion into new territories. From late 2025, the yacht will sail through Africa and the Indian Ocean before beginning Asia-Pacific itineraries, visiting destinations such as Hạ Long Bay, Vietnam; Osaka, Japan; and Bangkok, Thailand. In May 2026, it will chart a course for Alaska and Canada, offering a new perspective on the region’s dramatic landscapes and remote coastal communities.
