Richard Mille’s new RM 63-02 Automatic Worldtimer is an openworked masterpiece and a traveller’s companion

Richard Mille unveils the RM 63-02 Automatic Worldtimer, a 100-piece limited edition that offers a fresh take on the world-timer complication—designed for the modern traveller.

Measuring 33.50 mm, the watch embodies the brand’s signature DNA, with a bold, instantly recognisable design paired with technical ingenuity. Its rose and burgundy accents, openworked dial with black rhodium-coated bridges, and choice of red gold or titanium case immediately capture the eye.

But beyond aesthetics, the RM 63-02 Automatic Worldtimer houses an innovative mechanism that reinterprets the world-timer function, blending practicality with Richard Mille’s distinctive precision and engineering—making it a true companion for those who move across time zones with ease.

Far from the traditional world-timer mechanism, which relies on a crown or pushers, this timepiece positions the function directly on a rotating bezel. Crafted from micro-blasted 5N red gold and mounted on ball bearings, the bezel allows the wearer to select a city with a simple twist, instantly adjusting the local time to the chosen time zone. The adjustment is controlled using a wheel integrated into the bezel and linked to the hour-wheel, instantly updating not only the local time but also the corresponding times for the 23 other cities on the bezel. A two-toned rose-and-burgundy 24-hour disc completes the mechanism, making it easy to distinguish day from night at a glance.

The RM 63-02 Automatic Worldtimer houses the world-timer mechanism inside a red gold or titanium case. Its openworked dial reveals the gears in motion, while an oversized date at 12 o’clock is displayed on two skeletonised titanium discs. A different titanium disc for the function selector (a signature Richard Mille element) is also found on the dial, which allows the wearer to easily switch between winding, setting, and neutral positions at the push of a button located at 4 o’clock.

Powered by the in-house CRMA4 automatic calibre, featuring a fast-rotating barrel that provides a continuous 50-hour power reserve, the RM 63-02 blends precision engineering with intuitive functionality. From its innovative bezel mechanism to its clear day-night display, every element reinforces why this limited-edition timepiece is a true companion for those constantly crossing time zones.
