Remy Martin celebrates its legacy with the 300th Anniversary Coupe
Since its inception in 1724, the House of Remy Martin’s cognacs have been a staple among the most important gatherings in France and the rest of the world. Its name has always been synonymous with prestige, world-class blends and an exceptional legacy that only a few cognac-makers have attained.
Celebrating its tricentenary legacy, the House has lined up a year of special activities including the release of an exceptional spirit, the 300th Anniversary Coupe by Cellar Master Baptiste Loiseau.
The cognac is made from a precious collection of eaux-de-vie from the Grande Champagne terroir. This creation forges an invisible link between the past and the present of Remy Martin, as the same collection was used to create the previous 290th Coupe and the 275th Coupe.
“The perpetual reserve is as much a process as a legacy. When a new blend is created, part of it is set aside for future cellar masters. In turn, they will use it for the next Anniversary Coupe,” Loiseau states. “To create the 300th Anniversary Coupe, I have come to enrich this blend with the treasures of our cellars and Grande Champagne terroir, which will be the legacy I leave to the next generation.”
The 300th Anniversary Coupe gives off a rich, yet radiant aroma with its candied orange and passion fruit, as well as sandalwood and subtle floral undertones. The tasting experience is also one to savour. At the first sip, the cognac coats the palate with the same candied fruit notes, as well as fresh fruit expressions from passion fruit, fig and exotic fruits. This is then balanced with nutty and discreet oaky notes that gives the cognac a long finish and highlights the depth of its flavour.
The cognac’s glass carafe is inspired by the iconic shape of the 250th Coupe created in 1974, enhanced with embossed lines that symbolise the forward motion of the iconic Remy Martin Centaur’s javelin. It is packaged in a bespoke wooden case that contains a special note from the Cellar Master.
The 300th Anniversary Coupe will be released in a limited 6,724 bottles only. Visit Remy Martin for more information.
