Panerai strengthens its collaboration with Luna Rossa with two new tool watches
Italian watchmaker Panerai marks three years of partnership with Luna Rossa, the Italian sailing team, with the release of two new Luminor timepieces that combine everyday functionality with distinctive design. The launch coincides with the 38th America’s Cup, where Luna Rossa will once again compete on the world stage.
The tool watches—the Luminor Chrono Flyback Luna Rossa PAM01654 and the Luminor Luna Rossa PAM01653—stay true to the core elements of the Luminor line, from the signature crown-protecting lever to the luminous dial with Super-LumiNova markers and hands for clear legibility in all conditions. What sets them apart are their different case materials and dial layouts.
Beyond their technical details, these tool watches strengthen Panerai’s link to the world of competitive sailing—a field where precision, resilience and performance are non-negotiable. For Luna Rossa, the partnership reflects the team’s commitment to innovation and Italian craftsmanship, extending its identity from the deck to the wrist.

The PAM01654 comes in a 44mm titanium case that is robust yet about 40 percent lighter than steel, making it both durable and comfortable for daily wear. Its matte grey sandwich dial is accented with bold red details and Luna Rossa’s logo. It features two subdials, including a chronograph hour counter at 3 o’clock and a small seconds at 9 o’clock. Completing the look is a black and grey bi-material strap with the team’s signature stripe.
Limited to 150 pieces, this model runs on the P.9100 calibre, Panerai’s first automatic movement with chronograph functions. It offers a 72-hour power reserve and adds a flyback chronograph and tachymeter scale, useful for nautical timing.

Meanwhile, the Luminor Luna Rossa PAM01653 is a straightforward everyday watch with a more relaxed, sporty style but the same focus on practical features. It has a 44mm stainless steel case, resistant to corrosion and water to a depth of 100 metres. Powered by Panerai’s manual-winding P.6000 calibre, it also delivers a 72-hour power reserve.
Completing the look, the PAM01653 echoes Luna Rossa’s identity by featuring the same red accents and team logo on its clean grey dial and coordinating black and grey strap.
