Panerai upholds its legacy of technicity and Italian styling with its latest Luminor signature
Panerai is often associated with luminescent materials, thanks to the Radiomir that had once revolutionised watchmaking. The Maison would also supply the Italian Navy and its specialist diving corps with precision instruments for decades. Today, it continues to craft some of the more innovative watches, evidenced, for instance, by the groundbreaking ultra-black Panerai Lab-ID Luminor 1950 Carbotech in 2017.
The brand’s Luminor Complicazioni collection, in particular, is a celebration of its legacy. In the case of the Luminor Dieci Giorni GMT PAM01482, this remarkable timepiece is comprised of functions that are focused on Chrono, GMT and high-end complications – and it expresses the Maison’s DNA in both function and aesthetics.
At first glance, this timepiece might seem simple. However, what sets it apart lies in its advanced technology housed in a 44mm cushion-shaped polished steel case. Equipped with a P.2003 movement, it is enabled by a 10-day power reserve, which is longer than its original movement. This enhancement allows less need for winding, reducing the wear on gaskets.
Complementing these is the Incabloc® anti-shock device. This especially decreases the possibility of water infiltration and therefore even meets the rigorous requirements of the Italian Navy commandos. To match the beauty of the watch’s engineering, the PAM01482 boasts an exceptional blue sandwich sun-brushed dial and white Super LumiNova® Arabic numerals and hour markers.
The screwed see-through sapphire crystal case back reveals the magnificent mechanical movement. All of these details are only completed by a dark blue alligator leather strap with a second rubber strap, perfect for a blend of casual elegance and sportiness.
