The Macallan’s Harmony IV Collection is an exceptional fusion of artistry and flavour
The Macallan Harmony Collection debuted in 2021 as a special series of limited-edition spirits that re-use organic materials for its packaging. Blending art, design, and sustainability, the Speyside distiller releases its fourth edition in a unique collaboration with Cirque du Soleil, creating an entirely new level of sensory experience.
Drawing inspiration from Spirit, the mesmerising performances of the renowned circus troupe during The Macallan’s 200th anniversary celebration, the Harmony IV collection promises to be an immersive, multi-sensory journey. Every sip captures the artistry, emotion, and spectacle of a Cirque du Soleil show, inviting whisky enthusiasts to experience the same wonder and creativity that define the iconic performances.
The collection introduces two new expressions to its portfolio, both highlighting the use of sherry seasoned oak casks: Harmony Vibrant Oak and Harmony Guardian Oak.
The Harmony Vibrant Oak is an exclusive expression only available in Australia, boasting a rich gold colour that is reminiscent of fallen autumn leaves. It is matured in a combination of first-fill sherry-seasoned American oak casks and refill sherry oak casks.
Bottled at 44.2% ABV, the whisky offers a bouquet of intense vanilla bean, complemented by sweet sherbet and zesty lime notes.
The whisky coats the palate with notes of creamy vanilla panna cotta, buttery shortbread, lightly toasted coconut and almond brittle, all balanced by the sweetness of apple and oak. The finish is smooth and sweet, with lingering hints of vanilla.
The Harmony Collection is specially known for its sustainable packaging. For this edition, The Macallan repurposed and used oak chippings from oak casks for the presentation box and bottle labels.
The packaging of Vibrant Oak is designed with an energetic gold colour and features a beautiful illustration of Ayla, a character from Spirit, intertwined with the branches of an American oak tree. It also incorporates peacock feathers in its design, which highlights The Macallan’s natural colour.
