Chopard expands its Ice Cube collection with sculptural, shapeshifting jewels

When Chopard introduced the Ice Cube collection in 1999, it marked a departure from the ornate jewellery styles of the era. Built around a single geometric form repeated with precision, Ice Cube brought a minimalist and modular approach that stood apart. Over the years, its variations in gold and diamond settings established a visual language rooted in architecture and clean geometry.

Now, more than two decades later, Chopard extends that language with a bold new chapter, “Sculpted by Light.” Introduced as part of the maison’s Haute Joaillerie atelier, the collection reimagines the cube with greater scale, dimension and versatility, transforming the motif into something at once wearable and sculptural.

At the heart of the collection is a modular necklace (top) composed of nine articulated rows of cubes in ethical rose and white gold. Rows can be removed in sets of three, creating a silhouette that shifts from commanding statement to streamlined simplicity. Different cube sizes, polished and diamond-paved surfaces alternate across its length, producing a sense of fluidity and movement.

The architectural theme continues with bracelets and a multifunctional brooch, where cubes of varying height recall the vertical rhythm of a city skyline. The polishing of these uneven surfaces posed a technical challenge, but underscored Chopard’s savoir-faire.

Bracelets appear in three- and six-row variations, while the brooch brings a versatile, gender-fluid accent across lapels, ties or even hairstyles.

The collection also explores Art Deco echoes, most strikingly in a ring featuring a 3-carat Asscher-cut diamond across parallel diamond-set bands. Matching earrings highlight the same cut, with detachable diamond cube rows allowing asymmetry or restraint.
