The BMW XM combines striking presence with the powerful performance of an M hybrid
The BMW M model is known for its impressive lineup of high-performing coupes, convertibles, sedans and SUVs. A recent addition to its already impressive portfolio is the BMW XM, which is the most powerful M car yet in the form of a Sports Activity Vehicle.
The BMW XM is the very first generation of super SUV created by BMW M GbmH, the Marque’s subsidiary originally established to facilitate its racing programs and manufacture high-performing cars. It combines a striking presence with impressive power and specifications, thanks to its all-new M TwinPower Turbo V8-cylinder petrol engine.
The hybrid drivetrain delivers 480 kW or 653 hp, meeting even the most discerning driver demands. This also allows the XM to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.3 seconds. On the other hand, it can cover up to 98 km in all-electric mode, perfect for areas requiring low carbon emissions.
As standard, the XM includes an Integral Active Steering that provides more agility, especially when driving through a busy traffic in the city. It also comes with the Adaptive M suspension Professional and the M xDrive all-wheel drive system, as well as the Parking Assistant Plus and Driving Assistant Professional.
Of course, the SUV is not only equipped with a superior performance of an M model, but it also boasts an appearance that combines the design language of the BMW X models with bold extroversion and uncompromising luxury.
The car boasts a more muscular and commanding appearance, thanks to its sloping roofline. It also has side windows that taper towards the rear and a gold-coloured trim strip running parallel to the window line, which provides a striking accent highlighting the vehicle’s dynamic lines. Additionally, the XM’s front section is more defined because of its illuminated kidney grille and headlights that split into two separate modules.
The rear features its distinct flared wheel arches, as well as twin tailpipes, the standard in all M models. But to make the XM more unique than its predecessors, the tailpipes are arranged vertically, one above the other, for the first time.
The XM’s interiors exude the same striking design as the exteriors, featuring the BMW Curved Display, which consists of an Information Display and a high-resolution touchscreen Control Display. This enables access to state-of-the-art assistance systems and ensures that the driver has full control of all functions and data at any time.
The upholstery also features a Coffee Brown vintage leather that highlights the upper sections of the instrument panel and door panels, while soft yet sophisticated Alcantara covers adorn the cushions. It also features M multifunction seats for both the driver and front passenger.
