Condominium rising: ‘Resort’ is the buzzword for these four new launches

Condominium rising: ‘Resort’ is the buzzword for these four new launches

By Clara How

If these new condos are anything to go by, when it comes to our homes we just want to be one with nature. Is there a residence coming up that doesn’t have landscaped gardens or water features? In any case, we’re on board with the resort vibes. Anything that doesn’t require a Bali plane ticket suits us just fine.

New Futura

Indulgent facilities at the New Futura development

What’s the look?

It’s simple and effective: curved silver 36-storey twin towers, with sky terraces interspersed between the two. It eschews the resort look, but still pays homage to the trend with its multi-tiered tropical gardens and an infinity lap pool.

On the outskirts of Orchard Road, the prime location speaks for itself. New Futura has 2 to 4 bedroom apartments, with double-storey penthouses featuring their own private swimming pool.

Can we tempt you with…

  • New Futura’s exclusivity extends to just 124 homeowners. That being said, the development boasts 150 parking lots, with some designed wide enough for supercars and rollers to slide right in.
  • All rooms come with a private lift, marble flooring and spacious living and dining areas with balconies.
  • The exclusive clubhouse is available as a private dining venue, if you fancy yourself the Martha Stewart of hosts. The signature residential services also include hospitality-trained hosts.
  • Not one, but six themed sky terraces. You can expect a plethora of facilities which include a spa pool, an outdoor rain shower, a tea veranda, reading corner, yoga deck, a gym and wellness studio.

New Futura, 18 Leonie Hill Road, 239199.

Affinity at Serangoon

New launch condo Affinity at Serangoon

What’s the look?

The award-winning DP Architects have gone to town matching timber in natural palettes to landscape features. The luxury resort look is clearly trending, and Affinity joins the game with plenty of greenery, cedar wood and even cabanas and hammocks.

The residence comprises of 1 to 4 bedroom apartments, penthouses and strata land houses, spanning seven 15-storey blocks. The compound also houses five commercial shops.

Can we tempt you with…

  • There’s something to shout out about for each type of apartments. Premium 2 bedroom apartment owners, you land a 1.9 metre wide wardrobe for your expansive closet needs. Premium 3 bedroom units feature an open concept kitchen with a sliding glass door, and 4 bedroom units have a 5 metre by 5 metre living/dining area.
  • Keeping with the resort vibe, there’s a floating boardwalk, free-form swimming pools (and the requisite 50m lap pool), floating gym and island barbecue areas. For aesthetics, there’s a sparkling firefly stream, sans live insects.

Affinity at Serangoon, 134 Serangoon North Ave 1, 550134.

Martin Modern

The sumptuous clubhouse at Martin Modern condominium

What’s the look?

Martin Modern combines nostalgia with history. The area used to be a warehouse district with nutmeg plantations, and while that doesn’t sound particularly glamorous, the architecture makes subtle references to the location’s past. The building’s towers mimic hollowed out warehouse structures, and there are plenty of green spaces (there’s a whopping 15 curated gardens, including two roof gardens) to echo the plantations of yore.

The exterior of the buildings may be raw and textured to echo the past, but the interior is all contemporary high ceilings, marble and timber flooring. Residences range from 2 to 4 bedrooms, with some of the 3 bedroom premium and all 4 bedroom premium units having their own private lift.

  • There’s no holding back on the landscaping features. Nature lovers, you can take your pick from the roof gardens, rain gardens, bamboo grove, bio pond, garden spring, forest trail and even a not-so-secret garden that we’re hoping someone will invite us into to see what the deal is. There’s more, but we’re out of space.
  • Facilities aplenty here. From fitness and tennis courts to reading and dining pavilions, they range from the expected (club lounge, jacuzzi) to the more esoteric (pets corner, maze).

Parc Esta

Resort-grade facilities at the Parc Esta development

What’s the look?

Parc Esta is the sum of three very different parts. There’s the swanky Grand Parc in the centre, which emulates the lobby of luxury hotels with its expansive foyer and arrival hall. The landscape features (yes, again) include a reflective pond, garden lounge and koi pond lounge.

Flanking Grand Parc are West Parc and East Parc. The former is all about the children, with its 360-degree lagoon with party pavilions, bubble jets, kids water playground, a junior glamping lawn with mini teepees and even campfire inspired lighting. Adults can enjoy the aqua lounge, lagoon deck and tanning lounges.

East Parc, on the other hand, has tropical oasis written all over its poolside cabanas, hammock park, 50 metre pool, jacuzzi pool and fitness stations.

  • This residence is a smart cookie. Each unit is a smart home with day to night home monitoring with playback capability, locks with a biometric digital lock set, and even has a QR code visitor access (why buzz when you can flash your screen?).
  • There’s even a smart parcel locker to store your delivery package with an access code, and certain units have a smart mirror in the kitchen so you can cook while hitting up Netflix.
  • Every unit has a balcony or private enclosed space. All 5 bedroom homeowners can expect a private lift, and wet and dry kitchens.
